Big congrats to Jamie Staff for winning Gold in the Team Sprint in Beijing, along with former British BMXer Chris Hoy, who also won the Keirin and the favorite also for the Match Sprint today. So, does Olympic Gold really mean Jamie will never have to work another day in his life again? That's the word on the street! Not bad hey. For more inside info on what's going down in Beijing, check out AA Pete's site, as he's been doing some pretty cool updates. bmxpros.com and also bmxmania.com So, only a day to go for the BMX. It's getting pretty exciting. I talked to Cristian and Willers from the Olympic village, and they both said it's pretty amazing out there and they can't wait for the BMX to get going. Cristian said it's not unusual to walk past a mega star in the food court and they're all pretty down to earth and say hi. The Wildman is having an Olympic BBQ in HB on Wednesday night so we can all sit round the big screen and see it all go down live. Should be fun.

Rob Van Den Wildenberg Holland
How was your year? My year didn't`t start too good, I had a very hard crash at Supercross in Madrid. I broke my thumb there and was out for almost 2 months and missed alot of races. Made some finals and a podium at European races after my injury. Now I am ready and really look forward to race here.. How's things in the Olympic village? It`s very good here, everything is well organized. Seeing all kinds of famous athletes which is great .
How's your pre Olympics training going? Training is going very well, we trained some weeks in Chula Vista, which was very good. Did some good training in Holland after that. How's BMX in Holland? BMX in Holland is growing, it`s amazing to see how many kids started racing these days. Every time when I am at my home track I see new faces on the track. So lets hope BMX is a great success at the Olympics and I think even more kids will try BMX.
How's working with BMX Legend Bas De Bever? That`s fantastic, when I was a little kid he was my Hero and now he is my trainer! Couldn't`t be better!! Besides that, Bas is a great guy, knows what he is talking about and great to work with. What's your plans after the Games? I don`t have any plans right now, but if it's possible I would like to give it a try for the next Olympics in London!
Are you guys getting some good press back in Holland? We had some good attention in the last few months so that`s a good thing. I hope it stays after the Olympics, that would be great for the sport! Sponsors for 08.Redline, Rabobank, Shimano, Troy Lee Designs, Sinz, Intense tires.
Thanks Rob and good luck this week.

Sarah Walker New Zealand
How's things over in Beijing?
It's been pretty smoggy the whole time and raining a lot but forecast is saying it's going to be sunny for the next week which will be good for BMX.
How's your prep going?
The weeks me and Marc were back home in NZ, we didn't get a single track session in so it's been good getting to the Worlds track in Taiyuan to get some riding time on our bikes again. Goals for the Games?
To ride the best race that I can with good gates and smooth riding.
What you got planned after? 09?
I haven't really planned a lot for after the games. Most of it depends on what happens next week.
How's things on the National Team with Marc Willers and Ken Cools?
Marc has been an awesome team mate for the last three years or so and we haven't managed to get sick of each other yet which is great. The whole team situation is pretty laid back and enjoying what we love to do.
You and Marc getting some good press back home, you enjoying all the press you guys been getting?
Any press is good for getting the sport recognised and to get people interested to either get into the sport and raise numbers/sponsors but also to just get more people watching at the Games.
Who's your top 3 for Elite men?
That is pretty much impossible to predict who is going to win a medal in the mens race. If Marc stays on, he's got a real good shot at winning and besides that, it's whoever has it on the day.
